Big Latch On - Canterbury
Registration: 10.00am Start: 10.30am Morning Tea 10.45am
The "Big Latch On" is an event initiated by Women's Health Action, and is an attempt to break the already existing New Zealand record of 937 women breastfeeding simultaneously.
You can help break the record! Get your friends together and join us for morning tea, enjoy getting free giveaways and be part of this special event celebrating breastfeeding!
Where? Avonhead/Kendal, Kaiapoi and Burwood Plunket Rooms. The Oxford Terrace Baptist Church is hosting the Latch on in the city.
Please note: All mums and Bubs would need to register by 10.00am for a 10.30am "Latch on" start.

Mother support: Going for the Gold
Plunket beliefs that breastfeeding is the perfect food and provides your baby with all that is necessary for babies healthy growth and development. The World Breastfeeding week is a chance to promote breastfeeding and call for more support for breastfeeding mothers. 16th - 17th August

Eyebright Awards - Prize giving
The Eyebrights Awards are named after New Zealand's Eyebright flower Tutumaku, which flourishes in a variety of terrain and conditions - much like Plunket Teams! The awards have been designed to recognise the contribution Plunket teams make to New Zealand communities.
The Awards are team based, and cover two categories - Better Together and Innovation. Teams can be for example Clinical, Volunteers, Car Seat Rental, Family Centre etc. or a group of people combined from the above who have worked together to achieve a particular goal or result.
The Eyebright Awards are sponsored by Plunket's star sponsors Watties and Huggies. ASG Parent and Child Show

Every week over 2,000 Kiwis are seriously hurt in accidents that could have been avoided. Safety NZ Week is all about encouraging New Zealanders to be more aware of safety issues so that we can reduce the number and severity of injuries.

Plunket Annual Appeal
Plunket's Annual Appeal, 13-19 October 2008, gives everybody an opportunity to contribute to the Plunket services in their community. Plunket volunteers work in cooperation with Plunket staff to ensure every family has access to the services they need. To meet the needs of New Zealand babies and families we are aiming to raise over $1 million during Annual appeal.
