Volunteer education

There are many different voluntary roles within Plunket, and we can help you achieve success both personally and as a volunteer within these roles. Learn about Plunket, its policies and objectives, or how to run appeals, or familiarise yourself with Maori protocols.

Plunket's volunteer education programme recognises the contribution of its volunteers and provides help and guidance for you when you need it. Through this programme Plunket has built and sustained a highly skilled and proactive volunteer base. Presidents, secretaries and treasurers are vital roles at area, branch and sub branch levels, and there are workshops on how to carry out these responsibilities with confidence.

The volunteer education programme is standardised nationally but delivered locally; certificates are awarded for workshops attended and these can be listed on CVs.

Plunket’s objectives for the programme are to:

  • equip volunteers with the skills and knowledge that will aid them in their work with Plunket
  • recognise and acknowledge the input of volunteers to the effectiveness of Plunket
  • encourage efficient use of volunteer resources
  • promote Plunket’s direction, purpose and initiatives
  • attract enthusiastic volunteers.
