New child car seat safety recommendations will reduce serious injuries

*28 April 2011* One of the world’s leading authorities on child health and safety, The American Academy of Pediatrics (AAP), has issued new recommendations on child car seat safety. The AAP has refined the recommended time infants and toddlers should, where possible, remain rear-facing from at least 12 months of age to 2 years of age. Sue Campbell, Plunket’s National Child Safety Advisor says that Plunket supports the recommendation and resources will be updated accordingly.

Product recall notice - Cotton On children's pajamas

*27 April 2011* A product recall alert has been issued for Cotton On children's pyjamas following testing which revealed the pyjamas have a high risk of flammability. *19 April 2011* The findings of a Parliamentary Health Select Committee report, showing that that immunisation coverage in New Zealand is well below targets, has prompted Plunket to restate the importance of immunisation. “Immunisation is a vitally important tool to protect New Zealand families and communities. Sarah Ulmer and Plunket team up to support Christchurch families

*19 April 2011* Sarah Ulmer and Plunket have partnered up for this year’s Sarah Ulmer Brand (SUB) Stride or Ride Event in Cambridge on Mother’s Day, Sunday 8th May. All profits from the event will go to Plunket to support families displaced by the Christchurch earthquake. Plunket CEO Jenny Prince said that the funds raised will make a real difference to the services Plunket can offer to the families of Christchurch.

Plunket has reservations about proposed amendments to Crimes Act
