A voluntary product recall alert has been issued for the Edinburgh Travel and Deluxe Booster Seat after a small number of malfunctioning buckles were discovered.
The seats, sold through Baby Factory stores, were manufactured between 1 January 2010 and 31 January 2011. These dates are stickered on the back of the seats.
The malfunctioning buckle does not cause injury to children but could make it difficult to unbuckle a child quickly in an emergency. Baby Factory recommends that customers should not use the car seat if there is any sign of buckle malfunction.
Baby Factory has decided to take the precautionary measure to replace all seat buckles. All customers should contact their nearest store as soon as possible to arrange to have a new buckle by phoning 0800 BABYFACTORY

A shame, I love my carseat. I bought mine a couple of years ago so am exempt from this recall. I dont find it hard to install at all and love how I can use it as a booster without harness later on.

We have one of these. It is a parents nightmare! It is almost impossible to fit in a vehicle with standard length seat belts as recommended in the instructions. The problem with the clip is mainly that it takes 3 hands to buckle and unbuckles way too easy by any toddler. It can also lock up so it needs a "reset" to accept clips. Ergonomics is poor shoulder straps slides off too easy. A "Houdini" strap is needed. It designed to be cheap and look fancy! It is complete crap! Shame on you Baby Factory!

I have just placed the leading bid (so far closes tomorrow morning) on an Edinburgh car seat on Trademe. Now I have read this information I am worried. I can't withdraw the bid so is is possible to get the buckles checked if I win the auction.
