Parent groups
Walking group - We meet every Tuesday at 10.30am at various locations around Rotorua. Our walks usually last between 45mins to an hour. Both babies and toddlers are welcome on these walks. We are flexible about stopping for someone to breastfeed, or let the toddlers out for a run/play. Older kids often join us during the school holidays. Some of the walks are even good for bikes, but best to check in advance. Some of the places we walk are: The Redwoods, Hamurana Springs, Hannah’s Bay, Centennial Tree Trust, and a few neighbourhood walks too. I’m open to suggestion for new walk ideas too. There is a hard core group of about 4 of us who come every week but in summer the numbers usually increase. We’d love to see more people join. It’s very social and despite the chatter and stops, we do get a decent walk in. If it’s raining, the walk is cancelled but we often meet for coffee instead at a café or one of our homes. If you’d like to join us, just turn up on the day I always feel great after a good walk and I’ve made some good friends doing it!
