The Plunket Nurses, Community Karitane, Plunket Kaiawhina provide well child services both in the home and in clinics to families/whanau in the region. Playgroups and parenting courses are supported by Plunket volunteers. The main centres of Wanganui and Palmerston North have Family Centres, which provide help and support on parenting, breastfeeding, child behaviour and parent/family needs. Parenting courses, support groups, drop in clinics and home visiting services are also available.
