Advocating for the best start

Since we began in 1907, Plunket has been a strong and effective advocate working to improve child health and well being in the context of their families and communities.

This work is made possible through the generous support of our sponsors and the commitment of volunteers.

The main avenues for this work are through remits, working alongside other agencies or as part of focused coalitions, and submissions to national and local government and other bodies. This helps ensure legislation and programmes that impact children and families are grounded in the evidence that will lead to the best possible outcomes.

Informing the media through media releases also helps to keep children’s needs and related issues top of the public’s mind.

You can view upcoming opportunities for communities and individuals who also want to help ensure better outcomes for children and their families. Donate online if you’d like to support Plunket’s advocacy work.
