I needed support, I called PlunketLine
Jess Taylor-McCarthy, a mother and user of Plunket services, tells us about how Plunket has helped and supported her since the birth of her daughter almost one year ago.
“Since having Bella I have been a frequent user of PlunketLine, I call all the time about anything and everything! And now I have them on speed dial. I remember phoning when I started weaning my daughter off breastmilk, and I called them when I breastfed her for the last time. I wanted to know what to expect in terms of my body once I had stopped breastfeeding, the support was just fantastic.
Before having Bella I always had a fair idea of how I would approach parenting, but once she actually arrived, I realised it was actually some of the more day to day things that I needed support with. While you can ask your Mum some things, it’s great to have support from Plunket nurses, knowing that they have up to date information and lots of experience with different babies.
If it weren’t for this service, who knows what “mistakes” I might have made with my daughter. I can’t speak highly enough about Plunketline, I really do think I would be lost without it.”
