Tiredness
Broken sleep and the demands of caring for a young child commonly lead to tiredness. It's important to sleep or rest when your child sleeps. Take the phone off the hook when you are resting.
Consider:
- talking to visitors about when is the best time to visit and how they can help
- arranging for a trusted friend or relative to care for your child for a while so you can have a sleep or rest
- having a relaxing bath or shower
- going to bed early, even for a few nights
- sharing getting up in the night with your partner, family or whānau member
- spending a few nights with a friend or relative who would be happy to help with your child
- discussing the problem with others.
