Plunket is urging people to keep an eye out for children as
they head back to school this week. As New Zealand’s largest provider of services to support
the health and development of children under five, Plunket
recognises many children will be venturing off to school for
the first time. Sue Campbell, Plunket’s National Child Safety Advisor,
says for parents and caregivers the start of the school year
can be an emotional and busy time.
Before I knew it, it was December and Christmas was around
the corner. We decided that Sarah was going to take a year or around a
year off work. Every day Daniel was developing more, doing
Sarah’s grandparents live in Auckland so we thought as
soon as we have found our feet we would go up and see them,
as well as Sarah’s parents in Hamilton. We drove up to Hamilton on the first day. Daniel slept most
of the way but we stopped in Turangi and Sarah fed him.
Our second to last antenatal class on Thursday 1st of July
and both Sarah and I worked late that evening. It was a goal
of ours to not work too much after 5pm as we knew our
priorities were going to change when the little man arrived. We went to our antenatal class and Sarah was complaining
that the little man was feeling rather low.
