The South Auckland Nappy Bank celebrated the major milestone with over one million nappies being gifted to families in need. The initiative, set up in 2017 is part of the Plunket and Huggies’ 26-year partnership. The Southern Initiative’s ‘Early Years Challenge Report’, data showed that South Auckland was a young population with a higher than average concentration of children aged zero to three.

Plunket playgroups around New Zealand are being encouraged to get involved with the Sending Love for Christmas initiative this year. Sending Love is a nationwide project that collects Christmas cards written by everyday Kiwis and distributes them to people who might be feeling lonely or just need a bit of extra love and care during the festive season. The project was started in 2017 by mum Hannah Rodgers and her 5-year-old son Jayden Devin-Rodgers.

Although the Wattie’s and Plunket relationship stems back to 1958, it wasn’t until 1990 when the two iconic New Zealand brands formalised their partnership and Wattie’s became a Pick Me Help Plunket partner, whereby a portion of each sale of a Wattie’s ForBaby product goes to Plunket to support its Community Services. Wattie’s and Plunket have worked together for many years to create helpful resources for parents who are about to start their solids journey with their child.
How water-wise is your whānau? Plunket and Watercare, Auckland’s water provider, have teamed up to help spread the word on how using less water is good for the environment – and your wallet. Plunket’s Northern Region Operations Manager Sam Ferreira says, “A new baby can have a huge impact on your finances. It can mean there is less money to spend as the household income drops and costs go up.
