We are delighted to renew our partnership with BNZ for a further three years. BNZ, as Plunket’s Principal Sponsor, has supported Plunket and its families since 2010. BNZ not only invests in the welfare of many families across New Zealand through Plunket, but provides professional expertise and volunteer support for Plunket staff and their various initiatives.
For example, in May, BNZ, Plunket and Public Trust joined forces to provide free information evenings to Plunket parents and staff in Wellington. The info evenings were designed to encourage parents to consider the other forgotten aspects of being a parent, such as managing your finances, making a will and planning ahead to make sure your family is cared for now and in the future. These successful evenings are now being rolled out in other areas around the country.
In June, August and September, BNZ supported the Plunket Foundation Speaker Series event – Babies, Boots and Breakfast, featuring guest speakers and Foundation members - Sir Graham Henry and Professor Richie Poulton. The Speaker Series was a great opportunity to increase awareness of the Plunket Foundation and its support of Plunket’s valuable work. The fourth and final event in the series will be held in Auckland later this month.
Plunket organised its first fundraising golf tournament in September with BNZ as Principal Sponsor. The tournament was a great success with Plunket partners, suppliers and supporters making up teams and enjoying a fun-filled day – all while raising over $10,000 for Plunket! Planning is underway for next year’s tournament, where we aim to double this amount.
BNZ Closed for Good once again brought BNZ and Plunket teams together to clean, paint, garden, build and provide financial workshops for Plunket, and in September Plunket staff supported BNZ’s Wellness Expos in Auckland and Wellington. The Wellness Expos bring various health organisations together under one roof to promote good health and wellbeing for BNZ staff.
And if all that hasn’t worn us out, BNZ helped to launch our new fundraising campaign ‘1000 Days to Raise a Bundle’ where we sold cupcakes outside three BNZ stores and raised over $1,600 in three hours.
We are very grateful to have BNZ at our side to support our work with New Zealand families.
