Free Plunket car seat for family devastated by vandals

Plunket: Keep an eye out for kids on the roads

Plunket is urging people to keep an eye out for children as they head back to school next week. As New Zealand’s largest provider of services to support the health and development of children under five, Plunket recognises many children will be venturing off to school for the first time. Sue Campbell, Plunket’s National Child Safety Advisor, says for parents and caregivers the start of the school year can be an emotional and busy time.

Plunket gets Bear Hug Appeal started

Plunket’s Bear Hug Appeal is gearing up for this coming March. Our family of very cuddly and huggable bears has grown! We now have Big, Middle and Little Blue – who all come with a smile guarantee!
Our family of Blue Bears will be out helping to promote Plunket and asking for your support during our Annual Appeal. Why does Plunket need to fundraise?
As a not-for-profit organisation we have to fundraise so that we can sustain and grow our community support services.

Keep kids safe around water this summer

Planning on hitting the beach with your family this summer? The weather looks set to improve this weekend, so a quick dip at the beach or at your local pool has never looked so good. Water activities are a lot of fun, but they can also be dangerous. Water Safety New Zealand recently reported that 81 people drowned in New Zealand in 2013, including five preschoolers.

Knitting for Plunket

Knit World, one of New Zealand’s leading knit specialists, is getting behind Plunket and launching a ‘Knit World Pattern for Plunket’ campaign. Knit World has asked customers to use a special pattern to knit a total of 15,000 items (beanies, singlets and booties). Once Knit World has reached their target, stores will distribute the items to local Plunket clinics and will ensure some items go to high need families.
