This weekend our wonderful Principal Sponsor, BNZ, will be subbing off their logo on four Investec Super Rugby shirts for the Plunket logo.
The logo swap will take place for the two local matches between the Crusaders and the Hurricanes in Christchurch on July 12, and again for the Blues v Chiefs match at Eden Park on July 13.
We wanted to celebrate this by rewarding a great dad and celebrating the important role father's play in the lives of their children. So yesterday we made Father’s Day come early for one very deserving Plunket dad.
Christchurch father of five David Turnball and his wife Carlene were able to put their feet up for a few hours while some Super Ruby players went to work. Charlie Faumuina from the Blues, and Crusaders players Dominic Bird and Tom Donnelly chipped in around the house doing some gardening, cleaning the oven, feeding and changing the babies and making cups of tea!
Carlene and David have their hands full with five young children, the youngest 12-week-old twin boys Jesse and Ryan.
Their middle child, 14-month-old Cody, has a tracheotomy tube which assists him to breathe and eat. Cody has been up and down to Starship and has a lot of on-going hospital appointments and procedures. It’s a huge amount of work for them and David has given up work so that he can be at home.
It was great to meet the Turnball clan and treat them to a well deserved day of pampering!
