Plunket’s March Appeal kicked off in spectacular fashion over the weekend with New Zealand’s Super Rugby teams taking to the field wearing special Plunket charity jerseys – very kindly sponsored by Plunket’s Principle sponsor, the BNZ.
We cancelled our February 2011 Appeal to enable our focus to remain on supporting families in Christchurch. This had a large impact on our financial resources and programmes around the country.
Annual Appeal is our largest national fundraising event and its cancellation has had a large impact on our financial resources and volunteer programmes around the country,
Plunket’s services are free to all families so we are heavily reliant on funds raised during the Appeal - services like parenting education, family centres, car seat rentals, toy libraries, and support and play groups.
In keeping with our history of innovation, this year we’re trying something a bit different: an online version of the traditional street collection.
You can register here as a Plunket online collector and shake the virtual bucket by using your email, Facebook and Twitter to invite friends, whānau and colleagues to donate.
You can also donate here or get your very own Plunket bear to cuddle when you donate $10 or more at any BNZ store.
For more than a century Plunket has been giving Kiwi parents support they need to nurture healthy, happy kiwi babies. Our nationwide services help 9 out of 10 new babies and their families – but we continue to need your support.
Please give generously this Appeal week.
