Message from CEO and President

The year is certainly moving fast with no sign in the near future of things slowing down.

PlunketPlus remains a key focus for our organisation and you can read more about the exciting developments in this issue.

Our March Bear Hug Appeal, our biggest national fundraiser of the year, was a great success and we are very grateful for the support we received from communities across New Zealand.

While Plunket’s free home and clinic visits are government funded, the many other services we provide are delivered by volunteers from funds raised in the community - services such as the newest Plunket hub. The Canons Creek centre in Wellington opened in March and is another example of a fantastic family centre that has been built with the needs of its particular community as the focus. Already within a few weeks the centre is being used as a drop-in facility where families are using the support of the Plunket staff but also each other. This reinforces we all have a role to play in supporting our communities and the families within them.

This is an exciting time for us and we look forward to sharing more with you in our next newsletter.
