I hope you and your whānau have had an enjoyable week and have had the opportunity to continue to connect with loved ones online. As you may have heard from next Tuesday 28 April, New Zealand will move from Alert Level 4 to Alert Level 3. This change in response level means little change for how Plunket provides support for your whānau. We will continue to deliver a virtual service to minimise transmission and support the wider health system COVID-19 effort.

What does level 3 mean for us?
There may be a slight change for whānau with tamariki enrolled in one of Plunket’s Early Childhood Centres (ECEs). Under Level 3, ECE centres will be re-opened for those who need to return to work. Plunket is currently assessing the impact of this alert level change and will be in touch with all whānau who have tamariki enrolled in one of our ECEs to let them know of any changes.

All of our other services will continue to be delivered virtually, either over the phone or via video conferencing. This includes access to online parenting programmes and virtual community groups.

Our website has lots of handy tips and facts to support you at home with tamariki and we will continue to share information and host live chats on Facebook. If you need more support, please contact your Plunket Nurse directly, or our registered nurses at PlunketLine are available 24/7 on 0800 933 922 to provide friendly, parenting support and advice to you and your whānau.

Future planning
At this stage, Alert Level 3 is in place for two weeks, before the government will review and provide a further update 11 May. Plunket is already planning our response to each alert level and will keep you updated over the coming weeks.

If you have any questions regarding our response, or anything else COVID-19 related, please email us on covid19@plunket.org.nz, pop us a message on Facebook messenger or call PlunketLine on 0800 933 922.

Plunket will continue to play our part, staying home and within our bubbles, doing our bit to ensure we
keep our whānau safe.

He waka eke noa - we’re all in this together.

Ngā mihi nui,

Amanda
