Whānau Āwhina Plunket are honoured to have been invited to join the events at this year's Waitangi Day Festival, as guests of Ngāti Hine Health Trust.

Our fantastic Northland team worked alongside the trust and hosted a chill-out zone, creating a dedicated space for parents and tamariki needing a break. The team provided Well Child Tamariki Ora checks and car seat checks and were on hand to kōrero with whānau.

For Whānau Āwhina Plunket, attending Waitangi is about showing our commitment to being a Tangata Tiriti organisation which means that we are committed to equity and to walking alongside whānau Māori in meaningful ways.

“This was an opportunity to serve whānau, creating a safe and welcoming environment, and strengthening relationships with iwi in a way that is led by partnership. It shows what is possible when we move beyond consultation and into genuine collaboration, says Te Pou Whakarae - Chief Advisor Dr Hera Black.
