PlunketLine can be used by anyone who is caring for young tamariki; parents, grandparents, aunties and caregivers. You do not need to be registered with Whānau Āwhina Plunket to call us. Every time you call, you’ll speak to an experienced Well Child registered nurse who will offer you advice, care and reassurance about your pēpi or tamariki.
PlunketLine isn’t just for health concerns, worries or emergencies. It’s for any parenting question. No matter how big or small, we are here to answer them all.
We’re here for you to discuss things such as sleep, breastfeeding, solids, behaviour, development, immunisations, teeth and teething, toilet training, car seats, adjusting to parenting – and more.
On average we receive between 300-395 calls per day. Our registered nurses are there 24/7, offering trusted support any time of the day or night.
"It's really important to us that all whānau can access the support they need when they need it,’ says Zoe Tipa, Chief Nurse at Whānau Āwhina Plunket.
“PlunketLine nurses don’t just give advice, they listen, they care, and they walk alongside whānau through some of the most important and challenging moments of raising tamariki. This kind of support can make all the difference."
As one of our callers said: “PlunketLine is with you in those parenting moments; a calm voice at the end of the phone in the middle of the night.’’
PlunketLine is just a phone call away, at 0800 933 922. Support is also available in many languages.
