Whānau Āwhina Plunket has reached another exciting milestone, with more than 1,000 tamariki now vaccinated through our immunisations services across Aotearoa.
Last month, we announced reaching 2,000 immunisations administered. This latest milestone recognises the number of tamariki who have received those vaccinations through Plunket services.
Across the motu, 17 Plunket sites are now offering immunisations, with more coming soon. Each new site strengthens community access and ensures whānau can get the care they need in a place that feels familiar, friendly, and reassuring.
Whānau feedback has been overwhelmingly positive. Many have told us how convenient it is to access immunisations through Plunket, and how welcoming and reassuring the experience feels. One dad shared that we’re doing “really good work” and that the Waterloo clinic was “such a comfortable place to bring our baby.”
“Every one of these immunisations represents trust, a whānau choosing us to care for their tamariki. That’s what makes this milestone so special,” says Sam Ferreira, Regional Operations Manager, Northern Region.
Together with Health New Zealand, Whānau Āwhina Plunket is making it easier for whānau to access immunisations in their communities and helping protect the next generation of tamariki across Aotearoa.
To book an immunisation appointment, whānau can call our admin line on 0800 184 803, or get in touch with their Plunket kaiāwhina or nurse.
