Our first Sylvia Park immunisation clinic was held on Friday 29 August. Four tamariki were vaccinated, with more whānau booked for next week. The day was also a milestone for our kaimahi, with one Plunket Nurse completing her vaccinator assessment and another beginning her immunisation journey by observing the clinic. Whānau gave very positive feedback, including one māmā who shared that she had previously had a difficult experience elsewhere but left our clinic feeling happy and reassured.
Meanwhile in Manukau, opening day at Westfield was full of celebration. Five pēpi and tamariki received their immunisations. Whānau spoke about how much they valued being able to come to Plunket for immunisations, either because they couldn’t get in to see their GP, wanted to avoid long wait times, or preferred to stay with the Plunket nurse they already knew.
With these two new Auckland clinics now open, in addition to our Westgate clinic in West Auckland, Plunket is continuing to grow its immunisation services across the motu, helping whānau access trusted care in familiar, family-friendly spaces.
