Whether you have a question about your pēpi in the middle of the night or need some reassurance during the day, support is just a chat away.

PlunketLine is a free service available to all families, whānau and caregivers in Aotearoa New Zealand. You don’t need to be enrolled with Whānau Āwhina Plunket to use the service.

PlunketLine nurses can provide advice and support on everything from breastfeeding, sleep and settling to feeding, crying, teething, immunisation, growth and development, behaviour and parenting stress.

Live chat gives whānau another way to reach out for help alongside the existing 24/7 PlunketLine phone service on 0800 933 922. Whether it’s the middle of the night, you have your hands full with pēpi, or chatting online simply works better for you, support is there when you need it.

How to start a chat

To get started, look for the Ask Aroha button in the bottom right-hand corner of the Plunket website and select it to open the chat window.

Aroha virtual assistant

Aroha, our virtual assistant, is available 24/7 and can help you find information on the Plunket website. From the same chat window, you can also connect with live support:

  • PlunketLine nurses are now available 24/7 to support with parenting, child health and wellbeing
  • our Plunket admin team are available from 8.30am to 4.30pm, Monday to Friday for help with general enquiries (such as booking and changing appointments or updating your contact details).

If you’d rather kōrero (talk) over the phone, you can still call PlunketLine free on 0800 933 922 at any time, day or night, to speak with a registered nurse.

However you choose to get in touch, PlunketLine is here to support you and your whānau when you need us.
