East Otago Water Confidence Class

Qualified swim instructors from Just Swim Dunedin provide group lessons for infants and pre-schoolers age 6 months to 5 years to help instill water confidence, water safety and teach basic swimming skills.

The group sizes are limited to a maximum of 8 for infants (age 6 months to 2 years) and 3 for pre-schoolers (age 3 – 5 years). Lessons are 25 minutes long for under-threes and generally 20 minutes for over-threes. A parent or caregiver must be present in the water with under-threes.

The cost will vary depending on the amount of sessions provided and the amount of funding obtained and/or local fundraising undertaken in order to subsidise the cost.

In Term 4, 2025 the cost is $50 for infants and $80 for preschoolers. Classes will start on Friday 17th October and run for 9 weeks, ending on Friday 12 December.
