We are proud to have signed Memorandum of Understandings (MoUs) with both The Asian Network Incorporated (TANI) and CNSST Foundation during ceremonies in Tāmaki Makaurau, Auckland on Monday.
Signalling a shared commitment to health equity, cultural inclusion and collaborative service delivery, partnering with two highly respected organisations means we can work more closely with Asian communities across Auckland to better support whānau by offering culturally responsive care.
“Aotearoa New Zealand’s Asian population is growing fast and often families have specific needs in order to thrive. We are working hard to ensure equitable access to the services we provide, tailoring them to meet their unique cultural, social and health requirements,” says Plunket CE Fiona Kingsford.

“We know that early support makes a lasting difference, and by working in partnership we can remove barriers and ensure no whānau misses out.”
Plunket statistics from 2024 show Asian families account for the highest number of new baby cases in Auckland, and the second highest across New Zealand.
“As one of the fastest-growing ethnic populations in the country, Asian communities make up over 17% of New Zealand’s total population, yet continue to experience access inequities in health services,” says Vivian Cheung, Plunket’s Principal Advisor Priority Populations.
“One size does not fit all. It is important for Plunket to tailor our services and make it relevant and accessible to all communities.”
