Dadvice: Brain stuff - don't rub dirt on it

It's a Mental Health Awareness Week Special Edition of Dadvice this week from our Plunket parenting columnist, all-round good guy and "average dad", Jay. The other day, Miss Thirteen and I were discussing her day at school. She mentioned that she was learning about photosynthesis.

Dadvice: Starting daycare aka "Parental Guilt Tipping Point"

My son has just started daycare and it’s AWFUL! Does it ever stop being awful?? He’s so sad and moody, and even went on a hunger strike when he was there yesterday. Any tips for how to deal with the transition? I think he might be teething as well, which isn’t helping. - K
Ahh choice.

Dadvice: Introducing Jay

Child of the mid-80s. Proud as father of the two choicest accidents ever: Miss Thirteen and Mr Four. Responsible for adult kids by day (apparently, in the corporate world they call this “leadership”) and very little by night, all praises due to my wicked significant other.
