The wet weather was no deterrent for Whānau Āwhina Plunket's recent Super Saturday Clinic in Hamilton!

A fantastic number of whānau braved the elements to attend the special event held on Richmond Street which offered a range of free services to the local community.

Plunket community and clinical staff, along with volunteers, utilised five drop-in clinic spaces and a number of stalls to support over 200 under-fives and their whānau. They delivered a total of 97 Well Child Checks (Cores 1-7), 35 immunisations and 68 dental assessments and treatment.

There was no shortage of entertainment for pēpi and tamariki. Face painting, messy play, a sausage sizzle, biscuit decorating and a colouring competition were on offer, as well as toys from Plunket's Star Partner BestStart. The local fire station was in attendance with dress-up items too.

"I am beyond proud of our Plunket team and the incredible day they delivered! We were blown away by the turnout and thrilled to be able to support so many whānau," says Clinical Services Manager, Carena Nagle.

"There were even families in attendance that had previously declined our services, but were now keen to reengage with us and receive support for their tamariki. We want to thank everyone who turned up and are looking forward to more Super Clinics in the future."

Thank you to Hamilton staff for all of the work that was put into this day, as well as our friends in the community that came to support the event. He pai tō mahi!
