Plunket is the biggest Well Child provider in Aotearoa. This service aims to reach and support the many communities that make up Pacific Peoples.

We do this by providing a quality health service, and by working closely with those who touch the lives of Pacific children and their families.

There are thousands of people across Aotearoa working to deliver this on Plunket’s behalf. But what does this mean for you?

  • Plunket provides Well Child services to more than 90% of all new babies in New Zealand.

  • Of those families, around 11% identify as Pacific.

  • Plunket is the biggest Well Child provider in Aotearoa for Pacific peoples

  • PlunketLine 0800 933 922 is a free 24/7 telephone service for all families in New Zealand, whānau and caregivers.

  • PlunketLine has Pacific nurses availalable to answer your questions and Pacific language support if English is not your first language.

  • Plunket provides more than 400 services including toy libraries, playgroups, Parents as First Teachers, education courses in schools and other parenting support groups.

  • Plunket has a National Pacific Strategy and an Auckland Regional Strategy. These strategies inform the way Plunket develops its services.  

  • Plunket provides the Post Graduate Certificate Well Child/Tamariki Ora training, Professional Development for iwi/Māori provider nurses, and the National Certificate in Tamariki Ora.
