2 - 5 years

Your child has grown and changed so much in just a few years. There is much to come before starting school as well.

Toddlers love to be helpful, taking time to get things done as they learn. You will find they enjoy playing games with you, inside of the house and out, and friendships will become important as they meet other children at play group or preschool. Help your child with the idea of sharing, but accept that they may not want to share all the time!

Your child may enjoying copying you, using silly talk and try to get reactions from others from how they behave. This is all normal behaviour.

You can help your child thrive by having a few rules about what is ok and not ok. Avoid saying "no" to often and tell them what you want them to do instead.

Caring for toddlers and preschoolers can be challenging, so don't be afraid to ask for help.
