Get free help with breastfeeding | Mātanga Whāngote
Breastfeeding is a skill that you and your pēpi learn together. It’s very common to need a bit of extra support before you both become experts.
You can book a free, private, online kōrero with lactation consultants, who can help you and pēpi with breastfeeding.
Te Puna Ora o Mataatua kaimahi can help you book your session and be with you to support you during your kōrero if you like.
During your call, our lactation consultants and breastfeeding specialists can offer you advice and support for anything to do with breastfeeding.
Book your free breastfeeding support session
You can talk to your Te Puna Ora o Mataatua kaimahi for support, or book your free video call yourself by clicking the button below.
How it works
Your kōrero will take place over Microsoft Teams, which is a secure video chat app that's free to download. Once your appointment is booked you'll get some info on how to get set up. You can join on your phone, tablet, computer – anything that has a wifi or data connection. If you don't have a device that will work, your Te Puna Ora o Mataatua kaimahi can help get you set up.
You can join your session from home or any other place you feel private and comfortable, and you’re more than welcome to have a support person with you.
Appointments are available during the day, evenings and on weekends, to make things as easy as possible for you.
What happens next
If you and your lactation consultant decide some follow-up support would awhi you, Te Puna Ora o Mataatua kaimahi will be in touch to set this up. You may also receive follow-up phone calls from a lactation consultant later on to see how you and pēpi are doing and see if you need more support.
You can also get free 24/7 support for breastfeeding, child health and parenting by calling PlunketLine on 0800 933 922 (you don't have to be a Plunket client to call).
